Just Got Back From The Eye Doctor

Written by admin on August 31, 2009

Well, just a few hours ago I got back from the eye doctor and he informed me my eyesight, it’s just not that good. I’m not sure I believe that, but, I guess he is a doctor and does know best…right? haha. Anyway, after a battery of tests he told me that I’m going to need some prescription glasses. He gave me the prescription needed and sent me on my way. He did tell me to check out the glasses he had in the front counter though before I left. So, I did just that…and I nearly lost my lunch after seeing how much they cost! OMG! It was absurd! So, I came home and decided I’m going to buy my eyeglasses online. I saw that ausspecs.com.au had an awesome deal where you could get TWO pair for 99 bucks which is a freakin steal. The doctor’s office wanted like 550 bucks for one pair, and they were really ugly! I’ve heard great things about ausspecs.com.au before and the reviews about their products and services are flawless so I think I’m going to go that route. It’s so much cheaper and I totally trust their products since they’re very well known, so, all in all – good day for me. Well, cept for my eye doctor appointment being on my birthday. Booo!!!! haha

Minor Plane Crash At Mongomery Field

Written by admin on August 31, 2009

Federal Aviation Administration officials said passengers on a sight seeing trip got more of an adventure than they bargained for when the vintage biplane they rode in spun out on a runway at Montgomery Field. Two passengers were with a pilot in a 1928 Curtiss-Wright Travel Air 4000 when it landed just before noon and did a 360-degree ground loop, but the plane landed safely…although hard. It totally busted off the right side wing! It looked pretty crazy, at least from the pictures that I saw…and it was pretty shocking nobody was hurt but good on the piolet.

Planes scare me. haha

Body Found At Black’s Beach

Written by admin on August 31, 2009

Surfers found a man’s body at Black’s Beach in Torrey Pines Monday morning.

The body was in the surf and appeared to have been in the water for some time.

Lifeguards say the body appears to be that of a white man in his 30s who was wearing boardies and a t-shirt.

Yikes!! That can’t be good. I’m guessing being he was wearing boardies, he was out bodysurfing late at night which is oh so dangerous. I mean, the sport alone is dangerous but to go out near those rocky cliffs when it’s difficult to see? Just…crazy.

Paiting The House

Written by admin on August 31, 2009

So, I’ve been thinking about paiting the outside of the house lately. If there is one thing this place needs, it’s a new paint job. The paint is starting to chip off the wood and the stucco is starting to flake off. It just doesn’t look nice. My Mom actually came over yesterday and commented on it, so, you know it’s bad when Mom starts complaining. It reminded me of my younger days and about cleaning my room…haha. Anyway, with the weather how it is now, it’s really the perfect time for some Exterior Painting. It’s not rainy season yet and it’s not too cold, so I couldn’t really pick a better time to do it. The one concern I’ve had though is money. But, when I was talking to my Mother yesterday she told me her and Dad used www.progressivepaintingservices.com to paint their house last summer and that not only were they the cheapest out of all the companies they looked at but they did an amazing job. She said they ever took off everything on the outside of the house (light fixtures, doorbell ringer, etc) so that the house would actually be fully painted…not just a quick job. That was impressive to me! So, I’ll have to look into them and see what they can do for me!

Online College

Written by admin on August 31, 2009

I don’t have too many regrets, but one thing I wish I would have done was to take all of my college courses online. I did take a few online during my days in college and I just loved them. The biggest benefit to me was that they were at my own schedule. If I didn’t feel good one morning, I could lay in bed. If I wanted to work at 7:00 AM or 7:00 PM, I could…it was totally up to me. And that was such an empowering freedom. And I have to say, the really cool thing? You can do a distance learning degree by using online courses. No longer do you actually have to MOVE to some place to attend that college, you can now take classes from that college online which I think is a huge benefit! For example, my Sister plans to go back to school after she’s completed her pregnancy and will be looking into her online nursing degree. She’s also talked about a potential online phd but I think she needs to worry about the nursing degree first…lol. It’s really a cool thing, being able to take online classes and I really do recommend it to everybody that can. Very much worth it!

A little blog hunting

Written by admin on August 29, 2009

As I always do when I’m bored, I was searching the net looking for some new and informative blogs and I came across this great blog from Colorado. It’s got a variety of topics that can interest anybody, from postings about home life to postings about Doug Kaplan mile high. It’s really got something for everybody. And I have to say, the information about Colorado is really amazing along with the pictures. It’s so beautiful. If you guys know of any neat or interesting blogs, send them my way. I always like to help out fellow bloggers and promote them, hoping they do the same.

Debt Issues

Written by admin on August 29, 2009

I think it’s something we all run into during our life, right? The odd thing is, people tend to think it’s because you’re bad with money or simply just put a negative spin on it. I’m sorry, but, debt isn’t something you can avoid in this day and age. I’ve always been super conservative with my money, but with a mortgage and paying for college…it just happens. Things are expensive. To me, it’s how you handle getting out of the situation that is important and that’s why you need to find a good place with excellent debt consolidation reviews. I’ve seen so many people just pick the first company they see and that’s not the way to handle it. Make sure you do your homework. Do research. Use things to your benefit. It’ll pay dividends in the future. :)

Blue Bombers Win US Championship

Written by admin on August 29, 2009

It just finished up after a LONG rain delay, but, it’s finally over. In a mercy rule game, our boys from Chula Vista took out the little guys from San Antonio to win the United States Little League Championship game. Luke Rameriez again was amazing…clubbing a monster homerun and tossed a 1 hitter as well. The game was delayed about two hours thanks to the rain storm on the East Coast, but, they ended it about normal time since the 10 run mercy rule was envoked after the top of the 4th inning.

They take on Taipei tomorrow afternoon on ABC. Make sure you watch. GO CHULA!

Friend Needs A New Home

Written by admin on August 29, 2009

A good friend of mine is moving 3,000 miles across the country here in a few months due to a job relocation, and is going to be looking for a home in the Wrightsville Beach area. He’s already contacted a Wrightsville Beach Real Estate firm to look for a home, so, that’s good – but it’s a bummer to see him go. He’s been such a great friend to me. I guess he used www.coastalcarolinaproperties.com and their “find a home” section and he mentioned it was a total breeze to use and find a home matching the specifications he needed. He even said they had a homeless pet link which allows for the adoption of pets for your new home, which I think is totally awesome…very cool. I’m gonna miss him though :(

Panaria ceramica tile in the Kitchen?

Written by admin on August 28, 2009

A few minutes ago I got a phone call from my Mother informing me that she is going to re-tile her kitchen soon, but, isn’t sure what style she wants to do or what company to use. She said she’s been leaning towards Panaria ceramica tile in the kitchen, but I had no idea what it was, haha. So, I got online and started looking around. Once I saw it, I had to agree, it’s really nice and it’ll look quite impressive in her kitchen…so I decided to help her out with finding a dealer. I know she wants a deal but wants quality at the same time, so, after looking around for a bit I’ve come to the idea that she needs to look into Lazer Marble & Granite. Their website is very impressive as are the reviews I’ve seen with the quality of product. And really, to me (and to her), that’s really the most important thing. I’d rather pay a little more and get a high grade product, but, after looking around at prices it actually looks like Lazer Marble & Granite is the cheapest that I’ve found and obviously have the best product, so, it’s a win/win. I’ll have to shoot her an e-mail with the link to it and see what she thinks…even though I know she’ll love it.
