Sister Is Preggy!
Written by admin on September 22, 2009

I think I need some maternity clothes. No, not for me…that would be akward..haha, but for my sister who just told me she’s pregnant. She’s three months into her pregnancy and her birthday is coming up soon, so I figured some maternity clothing would be a nice gift for her. BUT, if you’ve ever met my sister, you’d be aware that she is a replica of Paris Hilton when it comes to fashion. She needs the hottest styles, the latest trends, etc. And if you’ve ever shopped for maternity clothing before, you know they’re normally not the most stylish. With that said though, as I was looking around on the net I found kikisfashions.com which has some really amazing things! They have really trendy looking maternity clothing which I know she’ll just love. It’s very stylish and totally her style. And I didn’t even mention the best part yet – the prices! They are so cheap compared to some of the prices I’ve seen at other stores and online. Seriously, some of the prices are 75% cheaper…and they’re also giving 20% off if you use the code “blogfriends” (without the quotes)…which is a total steal. I’m gonna have to wait to tell my sister about the website though cause she’ll just go buy everything if I do. haha

Water main break in Chollas Creek
Written by admin on September 20, 2009
A water main break closed a major thoroughfare through the Chollas Creek neighborhood and left dozens of businesses and residents without water. The break happened just after 6 a.m. Sunday and forced the closure of Federal Boulevard between 48th and Mary Lou streets.
It SHOULD be open tomorrow morning by 6 AM for morning rush hour, but, I’d try to avoid the area if I had the opportunity. There will still be clean up and a ton of issues in the area, so, avoid it if you can.

Anybody feel the quake?
Written by admin on September 20, 2009
A magnitude-4.9 earthquake was recorded about 4 p.m. yesterday about 25 miles southeast of Calexico, the U.S. Geological Survey said. Several aftershocks followed, the largest at magnitude 4.2.
It shook pretty hard here. My desk shook a bit but nothing fell off it nor the walls. Still, a bit nerve racking when you’re not expecting it. Also a bit nauseating. lol

Heat Warning Released
Written by admin on September 19, 2009
Uh…wasn’t it just like 70 degrees about three days ago? Now it’s like 105.
Anyway, the National Weather Service just released a Weather Danger Alert for the greater area here. Do make sure you check on the elderly if you have any around you….and make sure you keep your pets indoors. It’s way too hot for them outside.

Unemployment Rate Spiking…Again
Written by admin on September 19, 2009
Stateofficials reported the unemployment rate in San Diego County held steady at 10.4 percent in August, but remains well above the 6.4 percent jobless rate from a year ago.
The state’s unadjusted unemployment rate was 12.1 percent in August, the same as the previous month, according to the California Employment
Development Department.
The national unemployment rate was 9.6 percent last month, according to the EDD.
Between July and August, the San Diego region added about 1,400 jobs, most of which were in leisure and hospitality, according to the EDD. Construction employment, however, was down 800 jobs.
So sad. You really don’t even know what to say. I know a lot of us, including myself, complain about work and our jobs sometimes…but really? It’s just nice to have one…you know?

Our Lil Panda Is Growing Up!!
Written by admin on September 19, 2009
The newest addition to the giant panda family at the San Diego Zoo is growing, gaining 1.2 pounds this week, zoo officials said yesterday.
The 6-week-old male cub weighed 5.1 pounds and measured 1.3 feet during his weekly veterinary examination on Thursday. He’s getting HUGE!!!!
As the cub gets older, his mother, Bai Yun, is also getting to spend more time in a garden room where she can eat and drink outside the den.
They showed the little guy on the news last night using the Panda Cam and he looked so cute sleeping. I wanted to go steal him and bring him home…lmao

Car Insurance Is Up
Written by admin on September 19, 2009
Well, my time with my current car insurance company is up and I’m ready to move on. I didn’t really enjoy my time…they were difficult to work with and my coverage was pretty weak, so, I’m looking to move onto something better. My friend who was in the same boat recently told me he found some awesome company by typing car insurance quotes australia into a search engine, which lead him to zippy.com.au. I’ve actually heard of them before and they’ve had glowing reviews, so, I’m going to have to check them out. If they’re as good as their reviews, they’re going to be much better than my old insurance company. Good riddance to them and hello Zippy!

What’s Up With Health Care?
Written by admin on September 19, 2009
Man, is it me, or is everybody up in arms over this whole health care debate? I mean seriously, people are flipping out. I can understand it, at least in some ways, but I’ve heard a ton of people complain about the costs of having to buy their own health care and I just don’t understand. I’ve been using Tonik Health Insurance for like two years now and I totally love it. The coverage is awesome and the price is very reasonable. It covers dental and vision as well as the typical medial, so, I can’t complain if I tried. I love it. People should just do a little research!

Ugh! Stop The Porn!
Written by admin on September 19, 2009
Okay, I don’t mind what people do on their own time…it’s their choice, but, I hate how we even have to detect porn because we get all sorts of spam e-mails or a virus you don’t know of. For example, yesterday evening while at my friends house, his daughter was playing an online video game and randomly a huge pop-up appered with pornographic images. Thankfully she was young enough not to know what was going on, but, still. That’s just awful. How are you supposed to explain that as a parent? Getting some type of software that can detect porn or anything crude like that is a major plus in my opinion.

Multi Player Mobile Gaming?
Written by admin on September 18, 2009
Okay – I have to admit, this has me hyped up!! I do a lot of waiting around in life…haha, and one thing that I always have with me is my phone. I have a pretty fancy phone…it does pretty much anything I want it to, including playing games. I mean really, I’m always playing a game on my mobile phone. It doesn’t matter if I’m waiting in line some place…waiting for an appointment…on public transportation…I’m seriously always playing it. It wastes time, but, in a good way! Just what I need. The problem I’ve always had though is that I could never play multi-player games. I mean, it’s cool and all to play by yourself…but sometimes you want more. Or actually, some games demand it! It’s the only way you can play, sorta like Sporta or World Of Warcraft! So, wouldn’t it make total awesome sense to be able to use a multiplayer game platform? I was talking to my friend about this who’s pretty savy when it comes to technology and he told me thanks to Z2 Live, it’s now possible to have mobile multiplayer games which freakin rocks. I’m gonna do a little bit more research on it when I get home tonight, but, I love this idea! Some games just need it…so having this ability now is perfect.
