ADHD A Topic Of Concern
Written by admin on November 9, 2009
Developmental-behavioral pediatrician Dr. Sarita Doyle Eastman will headline The Winston School’s fall Conversation Series “How Parents and Students Succeed with ADHD” at the school’s Del Mar campus Thursday.
The free event is open to the public and will be held from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at the campus at 215 Ninth St. Guests will gather at 4 p.m. for refreshments, followed by Eastman’s presentation and a student panel.
Eastman, a developmental-behavioral pediatrician with a private practice in Carmel Valley, is also one of the school’s founders and a current board member. In her presentation Thursday, she plans to defuse myths about ADHD and give parents and students actionable steps to thrive once the diagnosis is made.

FBI Looking For Local Help
Written by admin on November 9, 2009
The FBI is seeking public help today in locating an armed man who robbed an Imperial Beach credit union.
The robber, who is in his mid 20s to early 30s, entered the North Island Credit Union, 1101 Palm Avenue, about 10:45 a.m. Friday, said FBI spokesman Darrell Foxworth.
While using a cell phone, the robber approached a teller, presented a demand note and displayed a black, semi-automatic handgun, Foxworth said.
The teller handed over an undisclosed amount of cash to the robber who fled on foot in an unknown direction. No one was injured during the holdup, he said.
The suspect is described as medium-built Latino or Middle Eastern man, about 5 feet 6 inches tall with dark hair. He wore a gray hooded sweatshirt with “Aeropostale” printed on the front, blue jeans, dark shoes, oversized black sunglasses and a gray cap, according to Foxworth.
Anyone with information about the crime is asked to call the FBI at (858) 565-1255.

Why Not Make Your Own Website?
Written by admin on November 9, 2009
One question people are always asking me to help them with is to create or help them start a website. I mean, really, it is a daunting task for somebody new but if I created a website for everybody who asked me to do so, I’d have no time. So, I wanted to go and look for an alternative for them and I think I found it. All of the people who are always asking me to help them create their website can now start a create a free website with a WYSIWYG editor which is amazing. A WYSIWYG stands for “What you see is what you get”, which means there is no nasty HTML or anything like that needed. You simply tell it what to do – pretty much like sending an e-mail and changing colors of your text, etc. It’s really that easy. I can’t recommend it enough. They will host it for you…you have 300MB of space to add videos and pictures to your website, they have over 300 templates so they’ll have something you like and it’s really just a great software overall. And as I stated earlier, it’s most importantly….FREE! You can’t really ask for anything more.
I even set one up…check out a screenshot of what I did in about 5 minutes. Seriously. That’s all it took to get it started!

Most Amazing Jewelry Site
Written by admin on November 9, 2009
Okay, so I’m sitting at work today and my co-worker tells me about this new jewelry website that will actually ship you a replica of your ring, before you buy…to see if you like it, the fit, the look, etc. Tell me that’s not the coolest thing you’ve ever heard? That’s the reason my girlfriend never buys jewelry on the internet…she can never see what it would like and how it would feel. I know she’s been wanting some Eternity Diamonds for Christmas, so, I’m thinking I get her a replica to try for Christmas day…and if she likes it, get the real thing. And considering the awesome prices, you really can’t go wrong. Pretty awesome place in my opinion.

A New Health Provider?

Has anybody heard about United Health One HSA? I’ve been looking at their rates recently and saw how much cheaper they were than my current provider. Anybody have any views or thoughts on them?

Saving Money
Written by admin on November 9, 2009
Now, I don’t know about you but I’m trying to save every dollar that I can in this economy. It’s rough out here man!! And if you haven’t heard, we here in California were just informed they are taking a percentage out of each of our pay checks to cover the state debt which means we will have to struggle even more!! I’ve been going through my bills lately trying to see what I can fix up and make cheaper – I’ve already changed my cable bill as well as my phone, but, I still need to save a little more money so I’m thinking about looking into my car insurance. I mentioned it the other day to a few friends and they told me what I was paying right now was absurd and that I was getting ripped off. So, I thought it might be beneficial to look into that and see if I can find a cheaper insurance. And not only that, but, see if I can find some other cheaper forms of insurance…like my health insurance as well as my home owners insurance. I know NetQuote.com is an industry leader in providing quotes so I’ll be using them to help me save some much needed money!

Thinking About A New Host
Written by admin on November 5, 2009
So, I’ve had this particular blog for a few months now and I’m really getting tired of the hosting (and really, just the overall look of the place). Just last night, my hosting was down for a good hour or so and that’s the second time it’s happened this week! And this is not the first time it’s happened…it’s very frustrating. So, I’ve been thinking about looking into some type of web design and hosting…but I’m not sure if I want to continue it on this blog or create a whole new blog. I know it’s a lot of work to create a new blog, but, I think it might be worth it.
One thing I do need to do first, before I do that though, is find myself a domain name. I’ve got a few in mind but I don’t have a final one in place yet, but once I do, I’ll go buy a domain name and get that squared away.
I just want to have a realiable host and a nice looking blog, you know. There is nothing worse than an ugly blog, well, except when you can’t even get to that ugly blog because it’s always down and unreliable. haha

A Holster For Christmas
Written by admin on November 3, 2009
Well, it’s getting to be Winter and that means one thing for me – hunting season!! One thing that I’ve always done with my Grandfather when he comes to visit at Christmas time is take a few days to go hunting with him and this year is no different. We’re planning to go a few days before Christmas and I’m thinking of buying each of us a nice Galco Leather Holster for our weapons. We’ve never taken a holster for our hand weapon before and I think it would be a nice thing to have, and also gets his Christmas gift out of the way for me. I think he’ll really enjoy it as will I.

Holiday Frames
Written by admin on November 2, 2009
I know, I know, it’s just the beginning of November but I admit that I like to shop for my Christmas presents early. I’m not one who likes to fight the crowds nor deal with all of the sick people out at that time of year…I just like it done soon as as possible. However, the one problem I always run into is I always have like five or six people that I just have no idea of what to get them. I mean, you don’t want to end up spending a fortune on them but at the same time, you want to get them something nice. So, this year, I think I’ve decided on getting them all some holiday frames.
I’ve always been a huge fan of the glasses from Zenni Optical. They’re very stylish (they look almost exactly like the super expensive name brand glasses you find at mega department stores) and in all honesty, I think they’re even better made…and for the price? It’s a no brainer. I mean, you can get yourself a handful of pairs for the price of one pair at a major department store.
And of course, being it’s Christmas and all, I of course have to get myself my own pair. I think I’m going with these:
