6 Treated For Carbon Monoxide

Written by admin on February 11, 2010

A San Diego County family is expected to recover after being hospitalized for carbon monoxide poisoning.

A fire dispatcher says a Santee couple and their four children were taken to the hospital shortly after 11 p.m. Wednesday after the man called 911 to report his family was ill.

Firefighters found a high level of carbon monoxide in the home but the cause was under investigation.

Carbon monoxide is a colorless and odorless gas that can kill in sufficient quantity. It can spread into homes from faulty heaters or blocked fireplaces and deaths often occur during colder months.

Santee is about 10 miles northeast of San Diego.

Attempts To Save The SD Mounted Patrol In Action

Written by admin on February 11, 2010

At 3 p.m. Thursday, a 10-day auction ends, and San Diego’s police horses will be sold to the highest bidders – or will they?

Russ and Sharon Evans are horse lovers who created the website savesdmountedpatrol.com.

“We have had people flooding the web site with comments, people with pledges,” Sharon said.

Assistant Police Chief Bob Kanaski says with layoffs and attrition, officers who rode horseback are needed elsewhere.

“We really need them out in our black-and-whites right now,” Kanaski said.

Although it costs $250,000 a year to maintain the horses, Kanaski says when you add up equipment, cars, trailers and officers’ salaries, “That whole unit goes and operates at about $1.2 million a year and you really want to cement that. You don’t want to rip that up again after one year. You’d have to look at it more long-term, two or three years,” he said.

That type of financial backing would cost close to $4 million.

Vacation Rental?

Written by admin on February 11, 2010

So earlier this morning I was goofing around on Youtube and came across the above video which I just thought was hilarious. I mean, how do you not just crack up at a man in a leotard outfit? lol

Anyway, back on point, it got me thinking about a vacation and my need to look for some vacation rentals. I need a vacation rental in the worst way – I’m more of a person who likes the comfort and space of a home so being able to get a spacey home as my vacation rental really works out well for me as opposed to a hotel room. It’s just a personal preference of mine…I’ve always had it since I was a little kid. I remember we used to use condos and time shares as our vacation rentals.

You guys should really Watch & Review This Funny Vacation Rental Video.

St. Patricks Day Party

Written by admin on February 11, 2010

Well, looks like I drew the lucky ticket of being in charge of this years St. Patricks Day office party. Most people get annoyed by having to do all of the work, but, I really don’t mind. It’s usually not THAT much trouble for me though, I do need to find a place that has some st patricks day party supplies. I don’t think people will be very impressed with my party unless I theme it up, eh? hah

Looking For Printer Ink

Written by admin on February 11, 2010

Sometimes I have to wonder, why is it so difficult to find ink for my printer? Seriously? I feel like I’m back in the 1700’s grazing miles and miles of fields like my ancestors did trying to find water, but, I’m looking for some ink for xerox phaser 8400 printer. I think I’ve seriously driven to like 5 stores and only one of them had it. And of that one, it was WAYYYY too expensive. What do I want to do…pay for some ink or pay my mortgage? haha. So, I thought I’d go online and see if I could find it – and not only find it, but, get it for a much more reasonable price…so wish me luck.

Grab The Kids! Snow Tonight?

Written by admin on February 9, 2010

According to the local news, tonight might be a very rare (as in once a year, if that…) extreme cold weather storm that is supposed to bring snow down to 2,000 feet. That’s really just the East county area, Temecula, Escondido, etc…places that almost never get snow. So, if you’ve got a bit of free time, head out to the East county tonight or tomorrow morning and let the kids enjoy some snow. It’s only snowed in Temecula about 3 or 4 times the last decade, so, it’s something you don’t want to miss!

Planners Looking At Road Expansion

Written by admin on February 9, 2010

right down the street from my house. You can bet your pants I’ll be at the meetings, opposed to this!

Oceanside planners were challenged at a Monday public hearing to come up with a way to ease traffic congestion without funneling traffic through residential neighborhoods as they prepare a long-range transportation plan.

“Oceanside is going to continue to grow,” said Jim Downs, a 70-year resident of Oceanside, adding that the city must “develop a plan that distributes traffic all over town.”

Downs said he was concerned that the plan for future roads, what planners call a circulation element to the general plan that guides future development, was being overly influenced by “neighborhood politics.”

But several people who live near Rancho Del Oro Road said they were equally worried that a dormant plan to build a freeway interchange at Highway 78 and Rancho Del Oro Road could be resurrected, funneling freeway traffic through their community.

PPH To Open Retail Stores?

Written by admin on February 9, 2010

Yep! You heard right, though, it’s a bit odd to say the least.

Oceanside, San Marcos and Temecula are on the radar for expansion of Palomar Pomerado’s grocery store-based “Expresscare” clinics.

The public hospital district’s governing board unanimously approved the locations during a regular meeting Monday night.

All three locations are outside the boundaries of Palomar Pomerado’s health care district, and that fact did not sit well with Larry Anderson, CEO of Tri-City Medical Center, whose public district includes Oceanside, Vista and Carlsbad.

Friend Needs A Lawyer

Written by admin on February 9, 2010

So, about oh, two hours ago I was awoken by my cell phone ringing. At first, I thought maybe I had set an alarm but as I looked, I saw a friends name pop up whom I recognized. Thinking it was odd, being about 6 AM or so, I answered and it was my friend, up in Los Angeles, letting me know he just got bailed out of jail. To my shock, I asked him what happened..but I couldn’t pull much of a straight answer out of him. He’s not the type to do much of anything stupid, but, the reason he called me was he needed my help looking for some Federal Criminal Defense Lawyers. The fact that he needed a federal criminal defense lawyer was a bit shocking…but I told him I’d see what I could do and get back to him. I know he doesn’t really have the means right now to get on a computer and look around, and it does take some homework to find the proper one…so I’ll try my best to help him out.

Never Too Early For Mother’s Day, Right?

Written by admin on February 9, 2010

Well, I guess the title of the blog post says it all, right? I’m always looking for things to get my Mom…and I know she’s always looking for clothing. She’s like a clothes-a-holic, but, the problem is she’s so picky. I was looking around today for some stuff and I came across a few things she’d like I think. SimplyBe Women’s Clothing had a ton of stuff that she likes (and for some reason has a horrible time finding) so I was really shocked yet happy to actually find her type of clothing. She loves to be stylish, but, she has to have comfort (really, who doesn’t want that?)…and she’s very selective and picky about it. So, I’m thinking I might pick her up a few items for Mother’s Day…see how she likes it. If she likes it, maybe some more for her Birthday which is only a few weeks after that. Then I might let her in on my shopping secrets…haha
