Improving My Blog Ranks

Written by admin on February 5, 2010

I’ve been thinking of promoting this blog a little more recently and have been thinking about an effective link building service to build up my PageRank. I mean, I like where it is now, but I really would like to see it bump up a little more. More traffic equals more exposure and more exposure equals more moniez!! haha

Save Some Money!

Written by admin on February 5, 2010

There are few things in life that I love more than saving money. Now, I’m not obsessed about this in any way, but, I love getting a deal. I always check the coupons and other areas to see what types of sales are going on, but recently I came across dealon.com which I just love!!! The discounts they have are so much better than the typical magazine or newspaper ad discounts you’d find and not only that, but, they’re also more useful. It’s not just coupons for food or things like that, it’s coupons and discounts for actual local businesses that I’ll actually use! If you’re into this sorta thing, I highly suggest checking it out. I had to e-mail my good buddy in New York some new york city discounts – I know he’ll love it!

City To Okay 610,000 To Repair Pipes

Written by admin on February 2, 2010

This is sure to get a few people hot and angry.

The San Diego City Council voted today to spend $610,000 to protect five aging water pipelines determined to be at critical risk of breaking due to corrosion.

The plan by the city’s Public Utilities Department is to protect 14 miles of pipes by using a cathodic protection system, in which a type of metal more likely to corrode is placed against the existing pipe.

The reaction to oxygen that leads to corrosion takes place on the sacrificial metal, thus buying up to 15 more years of life for the pipe.

The city estimates the cost to actually replace the pipes is $21 million.

Most of the city’s water mains are more than 50 years old, and breaks are not uncommon. According to the city, 60 percent of the failures are because of corrosion.

Explosion At Local Grocery Store

Written by admin on February 2, 2010

And worst?! It was the one I frequent!!!

A pressurized tank exploded at a Vista grocery store and injured a worker.

The 7:10 a.m. blast at Northgate Market, 1150 E. Vista Way, also caused considerable damage.

A man working on the refrigeration system suffered “concussive” injuries and was taken to a hospital, Vista Fire Battalion Chief Jeff Hahn said.

The injured man’s partner, who was outside when the explosion occurred in a second-floor back room, ran inside and saw his colleague staggering out amid smoke and debris.

Yikes – gotta be careful going shopping now!! haha

Buying Your First Home

Written by admin on February 2, 2010

I remember it a few years ago. I was fresh out of college…and it was that time. What time you ask? Buying First Home time. It was somewhat of a scary thing for me, just because I’d never done something so big…but to me, it was like getting your drivers license. You might have a bit of nerves at first but once you’re done, you’re so glad you did it. Though, I admit – I really wish I would have waited a few years to do it now…haha…since there is now the option of saving up to $8,000 dollars off of your new home purchase. Yep, you heard me right. You can now get a $8,000 tax credit if you’re a first time home buyer or have not owned a home within the past three years.

Now, when you think about it – think about how much money that is…you might see $8,000 bucks and think, eh, big deal. But if you’ve bought a 75,000 dollar home, only having to pay 67,000 is a huge deal. Think about all the things you could do for your new home with your tax credit? Maybe you want a pool for your new home? Maybe you want to add a bit more space? It’s really something that people should take advantage of if they can – you wont be sorry!

Here is a cool video on it:

What About A Weight Loss Clinic?

Written by admin on February 2, 2010

I think there are a lot of things in life that can make a person happy, though, I have to think that a healthy lifestyle really does top the list. I’ve been there before, kinda down and out, bigger than I wanted to be…and really just lacking any type of exercise. But once I got back into eating healthier and working out more, I can’t tell you the difference I felt. It was like a totally new person – honest truth. My Mom has been trying to get back in shape lately, so, I suggested maybe so go to a weight loss clinic to see if they can help her. She’s tried her own thing before, but, I think some professional help might put her over the top.
