This is sure to get a few tax payers riled up…lol
Lindbergh Field officials yesterday agreed to spend more than $2.3 million on public art as part of a terminal expansion project.
By unanimous vote, members of the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority board picked several artists to incorporate art into the design of the 10-gate addition at Terminal 2, on the west side of the Harbor Drive airfield. The project is expected to include a performing arts venue and a quiet room for those who want to reflect or meditate.
Work on the $1 billion expansion is set to begin in the terminal next month. The authority is using airline fees, bond money, federal grants and other revenues to fund the project.
